How I Gained Muscle and Lost Fat At The Same Time: My 8-Week Osta-Red Results

Since the Great Prohormone Ban of 2014, ostarine is one of the few highly effective muscle building supplements left on the market.

While we've mostly been left with a sea of ineffective and lackluster products, ostarine has remained a true standout amongst its peers.

After recently finishing an 8-week cycle of Osta-Red (ostarine), I'm ready to share my experience, results, and a bevy of ostarine-based knowledge with you.

So to start…

What is Ostarine?

Ostarine is a Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM) that was developed by the pharmaceutical company GTx to fight muscle wasting conditions.

It does this by binding to androgen receptors in much the same way as anabolic steroids or prohormones.

But unlike steroids, ostarine only affects certain tissues.

Specifically, ostarine targets the androgen receptors found in muscle and bone while not acting on other organs or converting to unwanted hormones.

In plain English, that means that you get the benefits of anabolic steroids/prohormones without the unwanted side effects.

So how does ostarine work as a bodybuilding supplement?

Here's a full account of my recent experience with Osta-Red.

My Osta-Red cycle goals

I approached my Osta-Red cycle with just a few simple wants:

  1. Lose 1 lb per week
  2. Preserve muscle mass
  3. Avoid side effects

That's it – nice and easy.

My 8 week experience with Osta-Red

Over the winter, I'd cleanly bulked up to about 191 lbs.

And while I wasn't anywhere near fat, I wasn't nearly as lean as I wanted to be for summer.

I can't say I was bothered by the fact that I was able to maintain that weight with relatively low body fat levels on 3,600 calories per day, but I definitely wanted to lean out some.

With my maintenance calories being so high, I expected my weight to take a fairly dramatic cliff dive as soon as I made a cut.

So when I started Osta-Red, I decreased my intake to 3,300 – just a 300 calorie deficit to get rolling on a slow and sensible fat loss cycle.

But the scale didn't budge!

In fact, it jumped up a few pounds in the first two weeks.

At that point, I was a little frustrated so I cut back to 3,000 calories for a week. And still, nothing.

I was eating at a 600-calorie deficit with extra cardio programmed in and I was gaining weight.

What the FUCK?!?

This was a kick in the pants because I was planning an “8-week transformation” but I was nearly halfway through and seemed to be going backwards.

About 4 weeks, in I decided to look at my Before photos and noticed that even though my weight was the same as when I started, I was actually leaning out.

I was gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time!

It didn't take long to go from pissed off to just plain excited!

And wanting to make the most of this cycle of ostarine, I continued cutting calories for a couple more weeks, getting down to a consistent 2,300 calories per day during the final week to get me to my After weight.

Tight and motivated

I've been through the bulking and cutting routine more times than I care to count. Mentally and energy-wise, this time felt like a lot like the others.

I'm naturally a big eater so cutting my calories left me feeling a little tired, kind of grumpy, and increasingly preoccupied with food.

And normally, when I lose a few pounds, my clothes start to fit looser in all the wrong places – which kills my motivation!

But what was different about using Osta-Red is that I didn't feel my muscles wasting away –

which caused an ever-present sense of optimism!

After this cutting cycle, my shirts are still stretching across my chest, my sleeves have yet to release their hold on my biceps, and my jeans are still snug around the thighs.

It's only my waist band that's fitting a little too large.

And even though my energy levels were quite low from eating at a deficit, I didn't feel emaciated like I always do on a cut.

I literally felt like my skin was shrink-wrapped around my muscles!

Osta-Red kept my muscles feeling full despite slashing carbs

I didn't have a ton of fat to lose in the first place, but little areas like those around my lower back and the point where my biceps and delts meet started to get carved out.

My muscles also felt constantly full and strong (even on or after low carb days) versus the “deflated” sensation that usually comes with strict dieting.

I'm even seeing details in my obliques and serratus that I've never seen before.

I know that sounds like a strange source of pride, but as a former skinny/fat kid, I can tell you that it's incredibly satisfying to be able to feel this level of leanness!

My strength stayed with me

As I said, eating pretty far below maintenance meant my energy levels were chronically low, but when I went to the gym the strength was still there.

I could still do as many pull-ups as during my days of eating a bountiful 3,600 calories, even though my mind said it shouldn't be possible.

Even when doing pull ups as my last exercise on high volume back and shoulder days, I could still pump out set after set with better form than before my cycle.

I had the strength and determination to fully hang and stretch for a couple seconds at the bottom, then retract and depress my scapulae, pull my chest up to the bar and squeeze like hell.

It was a very foreign feeling since pull-ups typically kick my ass even when I'm fully fed.

Bodyweight and arm size

You've probably heard the old school bodybuilding wisdom that if you want to add an inch to your arms you need to gain 15 lbs of bodyweight overall.

For me, it's been absolutely true.

Every time I've gained 15 lbs, overall my arms have increased almost exactly an inch in diameter – which is awesome!

But every time I've cut 15 lbs, they've shrank by just about the same amount – not so great.

Over the years, and especially since starting TRT, I've been able to spare an eighth of an inch here and gain a quarter there to finally have better proportions.

But for the most part, this has been a consistent rule for me….until now.

I'm down 8 lbs and my arms are exactly the same size as when I started!

Finally! I've defied this “law” of bodybuilding with Osta-Red.

So what does that tell me?

Well, I've definitely lost some fat on my arms and my glycogen levels are depleted from cutting carbs, so my guns should be much smaller.

But I've actually retained all of my muscle mass and most likely gained a little!

With everything said and done, at the end of 8 weeks I landed at a much leaner and harder 183 pounds.

This is the leanest I've ever been in my life!

Is Ostarine right for you?

In pursuit of the ideal male physique, many guys wanting maximum results (understandably) turn to illegal steroids or harsh (and also illegal after 2014) prohormones.

And while these compounds work superbly for their intended purposes – they do so at a price.

Most old school prohormones and high-dosed steroids cause a host of unwanted side effects including:

  • hair loss,
  • gynocomastia (bitch tits),
  • enlarged prostate,
  • suppressed natural testosterone,
  • acne,
  • water retention,
  • high blood pressure,
  • and loss of gains immediately after cycle

But not with Ostarine!

Many of these side effects are the result of the supplemented hormones being converted into other compounds within the body such as DHT or estrogen.

But SARMs, in this case ostarine, aren't actually hormones and thus don't convert to unwanted hormones.

So you get the isolated benefits on the desired tissue, namely muscle and bone, without the negative side effects associated with harsher products.

And it's extremely effective!

Is Ostarine side effect free?

I would love to be able to say “yes” with 100% certainty.

But you have to accept that there's a chance for side effects, even with vitamin and mineral supplements.

Just know that I didn't experience any during or after my cycle.

And also keep in mind that the VAST MAJORITY of ostarine users report ZERO SIDE EFFECTS.

For most guys, as long as you stick to the recommended dose and follow-up with a mild Post Cycle Therapy (PCT), the chances of side effects are much lower than any other type of performance enhancing supplement.

But it's my personal opinion that you should always approach these things with caution.

So while an aggressive PCT isn't required, I'd recommend one just to be on the safe side (I'll share what to use below).

Maximize your ROI

Simply put, ostarine is going to make all of your lifting goals more effective.

We all know that you can't change your physique without proper training and diet – great supplements or not.

But I also know first hand from having low T that training hard and eating right aren't always enough.

Perhaps you've (a) just been dealt a shitty hand, and/or (b) got everything else is in line but you're struggling to take it the next level.

It's frustrating as hell, even INFURIATING, to dedicate 100% of your effort toward a goal, only to get imperceptible results.

This is where supplements like Ostarine come into play.

I'm doing all the hard work so I want to make sure that I'm capitalizing on every possible ounce of muscle gain.

When I'm hitting the weights with everything I've got and chewing my way through dry microwaved chicken and plain canned tuna, I want my body to at least meet me half way.

This is especially relevant for guys like myself with the skinny/fat body type.

We tend to lose muscle more easily than we lose fat and gain fat far more easily than we gain muscle.

But I'm prepared to do whatever I can to make sure I don't use genetics as an excuse.

And if that means all I have to do is take Osta-Red to get the results I'm working for, then that's exactly what I'm going to do.

What can you expect from Ostarine?

Osta-Red is as versatile as it is effective. Use it for:

  • Bulking
  • Recomposition
  • Fat loss

You're going to amplify your results regardless of goal!

If you train hard and eat excess calories, you're going to pack on several more pounds of muscle and less fat than if you went about it with just food and lifting alone.

If you're aiming for the elusive body recomposition where you lose body fat and gain muscle at the same time (many say this is impossible, but I seem to have done it), you're going to have the most dramatic results if you're running ostarine.

And there's nothing better available (legally at least) that will help you hold onto your hard-earned muscle mass while on an aggressive fat loss program.

I'll likely never attempt an ambitious cutting cycle again without Osta-Red!

Too much work goes into acquiring muscle and I'm simply not willing to sacrifice it just to drop a few percent body fat.

But with Osta-Red, I was able to drop calories as low as I wanted and maintained all of my strength and mass, and quite possibly gained a little.

Who should consider Osta-Red?

As always, don't expect a supplement, even one as powerful as Osta-Red, to do the work for you.

I wish I could tell you that I just popped 3 pills per day and ate a normal diet and “exercised.”

But that couldn't be further from the truth.

I really put the pedal to the floor over the past 8 weeks, and I was already working hard.

If you're brand new to the gym, you have plenty of growth potential without supplements.

If you have 100 lbs to lose, the effects of Osta-Red aren't going to replace what the right diet and workout routine will do for you.

But for the guys who are grinding away in the gym week after week, month after month, and year after year, this is the best way I've found to legally accelerate your progress.

My Osta-Red dosing protocol

 

From the beginning, I intended to run Osta-Red at 37.5mg (3 caps) per day, but I started with one cap to test the waters.

If I was going to have any immediate reactions, I'd rather it be to one versus three caps.

With no adverse reactions, I took two the second day. Still no issues.

So I went to the full 3 caps on day 3 (all in one dose first thing in the morning) and continued that protocol until I was finished with 2 bottles, which came to a perfect 8-week cycle.

I kept an eye out for any strange side effects and had my Red-PCT on hand just in case, but didn't need to use it.

Since I'm on TRT and don't have issues with estrogen levels (my doctor actually cut out my aromatase inhibitor), I wasn't in need of PCT.

But if I had needed it, I would've taken Red-PCT at the recommended dose of one cap in the morning, one around noon, and one before bed.

What to buy

If you're giving your diet and training 100% and are ready to push yourself to the next level, here's what I would recommend to recreate my cycle:

  • 2 bottles of Osta-Red for a full 8-week cycle
  • 2 bottles of Red-PCT

      I had the Red Supplements Pct on hand but didn’t experience any side effects so I didn’t use it. I’m on TRT so my testosterone levels don’t need to recover and I have very low estrogen levels naturally so no need to control those.

        Would these results be achievable if you weren’t on TRT? I assume your T is higher than avg. natural person.

        I intend to run 2 months bulking cycle with this (3 caps a day). Already placed my order, no PCT, but I might reconsider if I notice side-effects. I don’t use any other supps or anything whatsoever, just food. Currently at 80kg (176lbs), 6′ tall, around 15% BF. What can I expect?

          The results of someone dieting without any supplements vs on Osta-Red would be even more dramatic than me dieting on TRT vs me on TRT plus Osta-Red. When you diet hard as a complete natural, your hormones tank which is one of the reasons a lot of guys end up losing more muscle than fat near the end of their diets. My friend is a competitive natural bodybuilder who’s testosterone levels are normally around 700 ng/dL in the off-season, but just before a bodybuilding show they were near 100!

          For your cycle, how much total weight you gain is going to be 100% dependent on your diet. If you eat 300-500 calories over maintenance and run Osta-Red I think you’ll be able to see a nice 1 lb per week increase with minimal fat gain. It’ll essentially be a perfect clean bulk. My strength was great even on a huge calorie deficit so I think yours will be through the roof on a bulk.

            I intend to do just that, 300 up to 500 kcal over maintenance, but as I read on ostarine around the web I have seen many suggest longer cycles (up to 12 weeks) on lower dosage (25mg per day). That would be 2 pills a day instead of 3 or OstaRed. I’m finding it hard to decide to go 4 weeks at 3 pills or 6 weeks at 2.

            What would happen if I was to keep my calories intake at maintenance level? I got some extra body fat lately and really need to lose it, but I don’t want to use up the whole cycle on cutting as my primary idea was to get some muscle and get bigger. I’m afraid going for body recomp will not give me significant results and I might end up unsatisfied? Personal opinion, what would you go for? I’m at 176lbs but now I have too much BF, over 15% for sure. No time for two cycles, summer is almost here.

            You could definitely shoot for a recomp, but as you mentioned, your results won’t be nearly as dramatic as pursuing a singular goal. I would go for a cut at this point. You can see from my photos how much bigger you’ll actually look when you lose body fat. Of course, you’ll look a little smaller in clothes but with your primary goal being in shape for summer, go for a cut.

    Perfect Timing of this Article. I’ve been debating lately if I should take Osta-Red after seeing Vic’s and GLL’s posts.
    Since I haven’t even been working out consistently a full year yet (10months) I decided I’d stay natural until I reach a massive plateau; although my bench has been stuck on 165 for a few months.
    You mentioning that there are absolutely no side-effects from your personal experience gave me the extra push to start Osta-Red after I have my first full year of lifting under my belt.

    You’re looking like a monster after those 8 weeks brother, Especially that Back. I see people in my gym on all types of PED’s that you easily blow out of the water.

      Just one more question if I’m not asking too much. I’ve been doing Vic’s BOAS program for over a year as a full natural trainee. I made some really good results – completely changed my physique and made insane strength improvements. My bench press is 176lbs (80kg), deadlift 352lbs (160kg) and squat 231lbs (105kg), for one rep. With ostarine added, should I change or tweak my routine for best results?

        I swear on everything just ostarine for 8 weeks. I used arimistane 100 mg ed & 3 g DAA ed for PCT (yes I know DAA only works for non-fertile men but it’s something I gotta include since I was a sucker and stupidly bought it). I was surprised it shut me down so bad…especially since my results were so good. Nate how long do you think I should wait to run again? I don’t know if I can talk my doc into blood tests in just a few weeks yet again. Cheers on your results.

          What was your dose, John? Normally the general rule is time on equals time off so you would wait a minimum of 8 weeks to run it again. But considering it shut you down that hard, you’re going to have to decide if it’s worth doing again. However, if you ran it at the full dose, you could always try it at one or two caps per day for a full cycle. Plenty of guys have reported good results on 25 mg or even 12.5 mg. I would wait to see how long it takes to recover.

    Hey Nate,

    Been seeing a lot of reviews on different sites about this product. I’m still a little confused as to what exactly Osta-Red is, but my idea of supplements only goes so far as creatine as I like to stay pretty clean. So if I understand you correctly, I don’t need to be taking/on anything else when I use Osta-Red, correct? This is a standalone product? I just got back into lifting last week (been focusing on martial arts and calisthenics before that) and am on the 5×5 routine. Would like to look into using something like this after about 6-8 months. Your input is greatly appreciated.

      Exactly. Unlike prohormones where you need to take liver support, joint support, lipid support, a testosterone base, and an aggressive PCT, Osta-Red is more or less a standalone product. Although a mild PCT wouldn’t hurt. The strength gains ostarine provides would be a huge help once you stall on your 5×5 routine.

    Two questions:

    1. Did you notice any effect on libido when taking Osta-Red while on TRT? More, less, or same as with TRT alone?

    2. I don’t get the “8-week cycle” part of it. Are you just reporting the results after 8 weeks, but you’re going to keep taking it? If it is doing great things, why stop? If you are going to stop taking it, when do you plan to resume? Why 8 weeks and not (say) 12 or 16?

      My libido was exactly the same as when on TRT alone. Ostarine isn’t a natural herb or amino acid like a lot of sports supplements. It was designed as a medication by a pharmaceutical company. Although it isn’t a hormone itself, it acts on the receptors like a hormone so it’s best to take it for limited periods of time. I took it for 8 weeks and am going to take a break for at least another 8 weeks. I may try to use it on a bulk in the fall.

    I took an Ostarine containing product called OstaShred by Hard Rock supplements. I did not have a good experience with it.
    I took one cap in the morning for five days,during this timemMy balls started to ache, my Libido dropped off considerably, and my Cum was noticeably reduced.
    One cap of Ostashred contains 12.5mg of Ostarine so it was suprising to me that it caused what appeared to me as Testosterone shutdown.
    I was pissed that it caused this since I had been reading such good reviews about it having very few side effects and that it would not interfere with your hormones – This was def not my experience.
    After Five days I threw the container down the toilet.
    On day six after stopping the Ostashred, my Libido bounced back with a vengence, I had no more ball ache and my cum volume was back to normal.

    Do you think Ostared will be different to Ostashred? – I’m scared I’ll have the same nasty side effects and that I could become sterile from taking such a supplement.

      Wow, that’s faster than I’ve ever heard of any experiencing that type of shutdown, even with illegal steroids. I wouldn’t try ostarine again if I were you. It’s just not worth the risk since your body responded so poorly.

    Does ostarine cause energy like say caffine? I ordered some and will start as soon as it comes in. I ask because I intermittent fast so I wouldn’t take the first pill until I eat at lunch and then again at supper. Will it give me energy that will keep me awake? Or can I take it on an empty stomach in the morning?

      You won’t feel any caffeine like energy. I wold definitely pair it with coffee through out the morning for Intermittent Fasting. I took mine on an empty stomach every morning with no problems.

      Both are great products and would be happy to use either again, but it’s hard to do a direct comparison since I ran a slight caloric surplus with Super Mandro and a caloric deficit with Osta-Red. They’re both great for boosting strength and providing smooth and consistent muscle gains. With that said, I have to give the edge to Osta-Red since it’s more of a stand alone product. If I weren’t on TRT I would NOT run Super Mandro without a testosterone base like Andro the Giant, a decent PCT, and probably some on cycle support and joint support. Also, 1 Andro products need to be dosed really high for the best return. If I use it again I’ll likely run it at 3x the bottle dose. For those reasons, Osta-Red is a much better value for what would be very similar results if every other variable (i.e. diet, training, recovery) is held constant.

    Good article and impressive results. Just one point to add, ostatine is banned by many sports anti-doping agencies. Several high profile athletes have been sanctioned for using it. I would advise against it for competitive athletes.

    Wondering what your diet plan was for the 8 weeks? Macros to go by if I wanted to do a cycle, just a base line if you have something to go off of.

      I changed things around a bit throughout. I started out really conservatively and ended up dieting aggressively towards the end so it’s hard to summarize what I did exactly. If you’re looking to mostly lean out, I would suggest that you eat around 500 calories under your current maintenance. Keep protein high, at least 1g per pound of lean body mass and the carbs and fat are really up to personal preference. If you tend to get hungry a lot, eat more calories from fat than carbs. Knowing your maintenance level and then eating at a deficit everyday is the big picture and the macro breakdown is much less important. You have to track what you eat, especially if you want to maximize a cycle.

    Looks like OstaRed is discontinued along with a lot of other well known Ostarine supps.

    On day 2 of Ostarine on a 20mg dosage (2 capsules) took together with first meal of the day around 12pm as I intermittent fast using the LeanGains method.

    Got a really bad red heat rash all over my hands chest neck ears and face this afternoon around 20 to 30 minutes after taking the dosage. Very weird as I’ve never reacted to anything like that ever and was fine on Day 1 same dosage.
    Calmed down after about an hour but I also felt very foggy headed which wasn’t great when trying to be productive in the office.

    I’m hoping this doesn’t keep happening as I already felt the great pump from it yesterday on first dosage.

    Has anyone else reacted in a funny way? It’s pharmeceutical grade stuff from a trusted source so I know it’s not a “Bad” batch.

    Any help or responses would be great,

      I didn’t have any sides at all. I was actually hoping to experience a little something so that I knew I was at a high enough dose and then could scale back accordingly, but I got nothing. Your reaction is highly individualized because I didn’t have any sides for 1-andro either.

        Hmmm very strange and annoying, I also had a very intense pump in my right arm on day 4 this time at just one cap (10mg) dosage which has now lead to what I fear may be a trapped ulnar nerve or damage in the forearm as my right hand feels noticeably weaker, in particular my 4th and 5th fingers. This could of just been an unlucky coincidence but it has put me off taking SARMs as I feel there is still more research to be carried out on them in terms of side effects etc.

        I may try them again once this injury has healed in my arm and hand.

    I have ran ostarine in liquid form at 5mg a day for a first cycle and saw some results, combined with a clean diet and hard, consistent training sessions. I cycled off for about a month or so, and just got some more in pill form this time and am taking 30 mg a day, a major jump from my first cycle.

    My goal is to cut fat whilst gaining strength, not necessarily mass for I must keep my weight in order to stay in my desired weight class for MMA. I was a big and reckless eater, yet have gotten used to eating small meals consisting mostly of protein and very little carbs 5-6 times a day with 2.5-3 hours in between each meal to fuel a fast metabolism. I currently fluctuate around 170 lbs depending on the day.

    I suppose my question is: should I keep cutting and stay at a caloric deficit? Or should I aim to put on some size and then cut? I have been able to maintain/gain strength by lifting hard and adding a cardio session immediately after the resistance portion of my workout. How should I work out rep/set/rest wise and eat in order to lose a bit more weight yet gain immense strength? Lastly, what exactly is the use of PCT?

      Ostarine really shines at preserving lean body mass and improving strength in a caloric deficit so I think that you should keep cutting. PCT is a rather extensive subject so you’ll have to do some digging of your own but the gist of it is keeping any estrogen levels from rising and to boosting natural testosterone levels after a cycle.

    Nate, I’ve also been on TRT for the past two years, 40 mg of testosterone cypionate twice per week. That keeps my blood level of test about 700 ng/dl and everything else within range. I decided to try osterine at 25 mg per day for an 8 week cycle, starting today. Hopefully my results will be as good as yours! I’m currently 5′ 8″ tall, 180 lbs, at about 12-13% body fat. I’ve been lifting for many years, and I’m in very good condition, but this will be my first time trying anything other than TRT, creatine, and protein powder. So I’m keepin my fingers crossed! By the way, I’m taking the SARMS1.com brand of liquid osterine. Here’s the link for those who are having a hard time finding a place to buy it.

    your before and after pics look fake, in before photo you stand with your muscles relaxed and in the after photo you tightened muscles or slightly changed the pose, you probably making some money from this advertisement

    Nate, I got 2 bottles of a product called Ostamass It contains 10 mg per pill, and instructions suggest taking 2 pills daily, so 20 mg. Doing more research I have found dosage ranges from 10-35 mg usually so wanted to know how you think should space it out. I was thinking of doing 20mg a day for 60 days, or doing 30mg a day for 40 days. Reading around Ive found that some say the lower dose for longer will get better results but wanted your input!

      -Also wanted to add that I am mainly taking to help aid in recovery from L4-L5 L5-S1 herniation surgery. I play college football and injured my back and I had surgery on it and then 2 and a half months later injured it again having to have another microdiscetomy. Now being done with football and have been released from surgery so with all the healing properties it gives you such as ligaments cartilage and bone density I thought this would really help.

        My back has been feeling better and better lately. I’ve also been taking a more proactive approach to flexibility and conditioning so I can’t attribute it all to ostarine but maybe it’s helped.

    Great post man! now that you have said you take creatine along with osta-red even on the cut, I may have to do it What were your strength gains? Bench, Squat, Shoulder press, Bicep curls. tricep curls, all of that! if you dont mind sharing.. I’m on my 3rd cycle and my body composition has completely changed upside down. I was 150 pounds all natural about 8 months ago i decided to bulk to 167 and i was FAT 16% bodyfat then i found SARMs. i did my first cycle bulked up to 182ish which is insane went from 16% bodyfat down to 13.9%. I would have been OBESE if i continued to bulk without any SARMs. I stopped lifting for a month (idk why) after that cycle and went up to 190-195 haha! i naturally cut down to 180ish but i lost all kinds of muscle and strength it wasnt worth it. now currently I am running the 3rd cycle and I’ve dropped about 8 pounds to 172 15% bodyfat but with ABS, currently dieting at 500 calorie deficit.

      forgot to mention my bench went up from 185lbs for 4 reps to 225lbs for 2, squat from 245ish to 275. I am currently able to do 50 pound regular grip weighted pull ups for 5 reps too, something i could only do at a body weight of 150 pounds.

      Awesome results, Fabian! I don’t remember the specific numbers but I went up in weight or reps every workout on nearly every exercise.

    Your results are blotched because your were on TRT during your Ostarine cycle. Although I’m a fan of Ostarine, I got decent results, but nowhere near what TRT did for me. At least your were honest about being on TRT at the time of your Ostarine cycle. But I’m willing to bet 90+% of your results came from the TRT. Even if you tell me your doctor only gives your enough TRT to maintain your normal levels, that is still a HUGE advantage to have in your training. My best gains came between 18 and 20’s (I’ve been training for 30 years) I”m 49 now. Although I’ve maintained some impressive strengths and actually still getting stronger (blessed with great genes), I’ve noticed it now takes longer for me to recuperate from a workout, it started when I reached my mid 40’s. and mentally, I’m not the animal I was once in the gym or the bedroom, so I know my test levels are dropping. This year I’ll being looking into TRT. Anyway, I really believe your results came from the TRT mostly.

      I understand your concern, Don. But if you’ve read my TRT series you’ll know that I didn’t even get newbie gains in my teens and early 20’s. My body simply didn’t respond to strength training without TRT so I would say that being able to make progress naturally at an age of 49 is nothing short of amazing. I did get those newbie gains in my late 20’s when I started TRT but they tapered off after about 6 months and it’s been an absolute grind to add 5 lbs to my deadlift monthly ever since. The results I show here were the product of losing a lot of body fat which only came from a seriously restricted diet. I was eating around 3,500 before starting ostarine and by the end I was consistently eating between 1,800 and 2,400. I totally get where you’re coming from, but don’t think anything is easy or greatly enhanced for me because I’m on TRT.

    Familiar with Osta-plex? Looks like a reformulated SARM, but is relatively new.
